Better yet, you can now zoom in and out as your creativity demands, without losing a bit of the 720p HD resolution. Given the SX130 IS's powerful 12x wide-angle optical zoom, this capability is especially meaningful.

12x wide-angle optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilizer

Canon PowerShot digital camera highlights

Whether you're at a sporting event, school play, or just out and about shooting, you'll love how the SX130's powerful wide-angle 12x optical zoom gets you up close fast and puts more image into every frame. And Canon's Optical Image Stabilizer controls camera shake to ensure that throughout the zoom range, your images are steady and crystal clear.

Scene modes like Miniature Effect for Movie and Fisheye Effect offers creative options for videos and images
Explore your creativity! The PowerShot SX130 IS gives you fun, easy ways to play with perspective in your still images and videos, too.

Miniature Effect for Movies (also available for still images) enhances perspective to give whatever you're shooting the fascinating look of a scene shot with miniature models. At the same time, selective frames are removed to enhance the effect when you play the scene back at 30 fps.

"Fisheye" lenses are favorites of professional photographers: their quirky, convex perspective gives a fun creative punch to shots of kids, pets and more. The SX130 IS creates a Fisheye Effect without the need to attach a special lens--simply activate the mode, choose from three levels (low, medium and high) and shoot!

USERS REVIEWS
It is very inexpensive camera with all photographic controls and good image quality. I do not use it in poor lighting, in decent lighting it is very capable camera. You have real photographic tool in your hands. It may be a very good camera for teaching photography to younger kids. The camera is very well constructed, study, made of hard, good quality plastic and is very reliable. I took over 8000 pictures with it, and it is still like new. The video is great too!

Am very happy with this camera! It is small enough to take with me anywhere yet has more features than the smaller digital
Cameras I am used to ;) definitely recommend!

I've had the camera for about 6 months now and I really like it. I bought it for a College Photography class and I'm really glad I did. It takes very clear pictures there is virtually no learning curve. The camera has a good zoom and has a giant screen. I've used expensive DSLRs since I got this and honestly, I much prefer using this camera. The pictures it takes are great for what I want them for and camera is small and light enough to take with me.

USERS REVIEWS
This VR lens is inexpensive (192$ -100$ discount since I bought it with the camera during Christmas). I can't think of a single negative point for this camera.

We had noticed that this 55-200mm Kit lens was sold with the 18-55mm kit lens along with some D series Nikon cameras, like our D5000 or the D3100. We bought ours with just the 18-55mm at the time. We did not need two longer focus lenses, but a matching VR DX G lens would be useful. The 18-200mm would have been nice, but we have a greater need for prime and macro lenses. Someone with the need for a better lens for low light with a higher zoom ratio should think about the 18-200mm. We have found the 55-200mm lens very useful for daytime nature photography. Even with VR a faster lens works better indoors, though with proper support, this f/4-5.6 will work, especially if you are skilled with post processing. The two kit lenses are a remarkable light kit to carry around all day with the D3100 and a couple 16GB class 10 SDHC cards and a spare battery. A light jacket or vest with zipper pockets held all the extra bits, plus a light snack/lunch. For heavier traveling, Our Lowepro backpack suits the purpose, but why carry what you don't need if you don't have to.

I was very unsure which lens to purchase when I wanted to upgrade the capabilities of the Nikon D3000 I purchased for my wife. After reading lots of reviews I decided go ahead and get this lens and my wife has been very happy with it. We use the camera and the combination of this lens and the one that came with it to take pictures of the kids and all those "scrapbooking" type moments and have been very satisfied. This lens stays on the camera most of the time and the lens that was included with the camera is used only when shooting close range photos (same room, small room).

USERS REVIEWS
This is an awesome camera. Has been far better than I had thought. Very light weight. My only concern is that I have not been able to determine the avaliabity of the wireless remote.

This can make an amateur photographer (like myself) take quite amazing photos, without having to adjust your aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc. Yet it also gives you the ability to change those to suit the situation better, too. Fairly easy to understand, though I'm sure I'll still be learning the features for a while to come. The included lens is actually quite good, with autofocus and such. If you're looking for a DSLR but have no experience with them, this is about as good as a starter can get. Haven't played with it too much, but I'll add info when I know the camera better.

So what can I say? I love this camera you will not be able to find a camera better fot such money. The picture is great, video is also ok(sound of auto-focus is bad), but it's not video-camera. The biggest minus - LCD display :( You should to zoom you picture to see what you pictured. I higly recomed this camera for everobody even you are mature photograph.

I have an old G3 and it takes beautiful pictures but it is huge, heavy and slow. This little camera takes great photos and fits in my pocket. I took it to DC and it was perfect save for the shutter freezing a few times (condensation from inside my coat+ 20f temps and the battery meter fluctuating in the freezing temps. It really is a great camera and the price made it a steal!

Excelent product. The camera does everything for you when is in automatic and the result is amazing pictures.

The best camera I have bought so far.

Now she has a camera all for herself. Great size, excellent pictures.
Good auto settings, good white balance, good focus.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens

TECHNICAL DETAILS
  • 50mm standard lens with f/1.8 maximum aperture
  • Traditional Gauss-type optical design is extremely sharp
  • Focuses as close as 18 inches for extreme close-ups
  • Ideal for natural-looking shots; excellent color balance
  • Measures 2.7 inches in diameter; 1-year warranty
  • Product Dimensions: 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.6 inches ; 4.6 ounces
 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Amazon.com Product Description Lightweight and affordable, the Canon EF 50mm lens--which offers a fast f/1.8 aperture--is an excellent lens for people who prefer a fixed focal length. Canon's lightest EF lens at a mere 4.6 ounces, the lens boasts a traditional Gauss-type optical design that delivers a sharp performance even when wide open. As a result, the lens provides an image that's extremely close to how your eye perceives a subject, making it excellent for portraits and images that require a natural depth of field. In addition, the lens focuses as close as 18 inches, helping you take extreme close-ups. Finally, the lens offers an excellent color balance. As with all Canon lenses, the lens carries a one-year warranty.
  • Focal length: 50mm
  • Maximum aperture: 1:1.8
  • Lens construction: 6 elements in 5 groups
  • Diagonal angle of view: 46 degrees
  • Focus adjustment: Overall linear extension system with Micromotor
  • Closest focusing distance: 1.5 feet
  • Filter size: 52mm
  • Dimensions: 2.7 inches in diameter, 1.6 inches long
  • Weight: 4.6 ounces
The Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II may be one of the cheapest lenses currently on the market, but its optics belie its lowly price. As befits a classic standard prime lens, it's very sharp when stopped down (especially in the centre), shows minimal chromatic aberration, and has relatively low distortion; APS-C users will also benefit from extremely low vignetting. In most regards it comes very close indeed to its much more expensive bigger brother, the EF 50mm F1.4 USM, lagging marginally behind in corner sharpness at any specific aperture. The only real blight in imaging terms is the lens's bokeh, or rendition of out-of-focus backgrounds, which is anything but smooth with a distinct tendency to render bright highlights as obvious pentagons (it's a pity Canon didn't choose to use a diaphragm with 7 or 8 blades instead of 5).

USERS REVIEWS

I've really enjoyed this lens for the few times I've used it over the last 6 months. I was great for a low light wedding I shot last year and is what really got me started in wanting to do wedding photography. Hope everyone enjoys this lens as much as I have.

The shipping took no longer than 3 days! :) I am very pleased with the pictures I just got it about 2 days ago! I havent went shooting yet, but took some test shots in my house and got some really good pictures! cant wait to take it out! :)

This is a fantastic lens. It is everything everyone said it is, plus more-(protection from drunk marmots is awesome..guess they want to make sure you pay attention when rating things) Anyway-I was surprised to read that the construction was cheap feeling. It doesnt feel cheap at all to me. Maybe because it is so small compared to other lenses that makes people feel that way but it feels well made to me. I was expecting to handle it gingerly and baby it but when I took it out of the box I was pleasantly surprised at the feel of it. Not toy like at all,but when compared to my other lenses yes, it is of course a huge difference.I love this lens so far and I've only had it for one day.I use a Canon 7D and I have a feeling this lens will quickly become my favorite!
